Hope Floats

I love this poem by Emily Dickinson.  And now I have more reason to love it because it reminds me of all the beautiful souls I've met. And even though I haven't "met" them all in person, I call them my friends because strangers can't possibly touch my heart like these beautiful people do. More about that later... I love you all, you know who you are!!

Hope Floats
"Hope" is the thing with feathers—
That perches in the soul—
And sings the tune without the words—
And never stops—at all—

And sweetest—in the Gale—is heard—

And sore must be the storm—
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm—

I've heard it in the chillest land—

And on the strangest Sea—
Yet, never, in Extremity,
It asked a crumb—of Me.
